About Patrik Slater
Patrik has been in the gaming industry for half a decade now, working various content creation roles, before finally landing at Valnet Inc. as the Video Content Lead. He has experience creating engaging and impactful videos spanning short-form attention grabbing snippets, to long-form deep dives - and everything in between.
He's also an avid gamer, and has been since the age of 5, starting his gaming journey on the SNES with the one and only Super Mario World. These days, you can find him playing through a 100-hour RPG, doing yet another Deity run in Civilization or running duos in ranked Rocket League with a friend.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
Soloing the Little Lost Girl easter egg achievement in Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Zombies. Anyone who has played these game modes knows that the easter eggs can be time consuming and can require a few party members to complete. However, the Origins map had a way of completing its easter egg solo, albeit in a more convoluted and time-consuming manner. Getting there was definitely a challenge, but the satisfaction of completing it was oh so rewarding.
Favorite Games
This is never an easy question, so we'll have to go over a few:
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - An ungodly amount of hours were sunk into this game, and every minute and second was worth it.
Civilization V: Maybe it's just the One More Turn mentality, but something about Civ V's gameplay and strategy just keeps someone coming back for more.
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2: Any game sequel to a game that was initially available in cereal boxes and is still being player two decades later is worthy of being someone's favorite.
Favorite Console
The Xbox 360 has to be one of the all-time greats. It brings back so much nostalgia - the sounds, the colors, the HUD, the menus. It's all just synonymous with the words quintessential gaming experience in the 2010s. Not to mention the games that came out during this time period were absolutely stellar and many of them still hold up today.
