Players will likely find the eccentric NPC at the Goblin Camp, where he will find himself in quite a predicament. Thankfully, players who know what to do and what to say can free Volo from the Goblin Camp in BG3. Rescuing Volo

  1. Speak to Volo in the Emerald Grove.
  2. Speak to Volo in the Goblin Camp.
  3. Go inside the Heavy Oak Doors to the north, following Volo and his captor.
  4. Find Volo in this main area of the Shattered Sanctum. Hug the right wall, passing Liam and Abdirak to a third room.
  5. Either convince Gribbo to leave with a skill check or quickly assassinate Gribbo.
  6. Speak to Volo and release him.

Follow Gribbo the Goblin and Volo. There is no time limit, so feel free to get the Mark of the Absolute before heading right and finding Volo. From here, either convince her to let Volo go or take her out quickly. Volo can still escape eventually if players take out Gribbo slowly but it will likely mean having to kill every Goblin at this location first.
