As players explore the Rosymorn Monastery in Baldur's Gate 3, they may encounter a puzzle that centers around a large stained-glass window that is surrounded by four pedestals. To solve this puzzle, fans must locate two ceremonial weapons and place them (and a non-ceremonial weapon) atop the aforementioned plinths. This guide is here to assist with that endeavor, and players can find the locations of all the Rosymorn Monastery ceremonial weapons in Baldur's Gate 3 detailed below.

Updated September 5th, 2023: Finding the Ceremonial Weapons in BG3 can be a bit of a headache for players who stumble upon the puzzle and aren't sure just where to look for these items. Not only will players need to get their hands on the weapons themselves, but they'll also need to place them on the correct pedestals in a room in order to solve the puzzle itself. Thankfully, the Ceremonial Weapons in Baldur's Gate 3 are pretty simple to find and snag if players know where to go and where to look. To better aid players in finding the Ceremonial Weapons in BG3, the following guide has been updated and now includes a guide.

Baldur's Gate 3: Rosymorn Monastery Ceremonial Weapon Locations

Ceremonial Longsword

The Ceremonial Longsword is already on Dawmaster Welkinglory's pedestal at X:70 Y:77.

Ceremonial Battleaxe

Baldur's Gate 3 players can earn the Ceremonial Battleaxe by defeating the Guardian of Faith, a Level 7 NPC that is found beyond the Enchanted Door at X:92 Y:45. Fans can bypass that door with a lockpick and then clear the furniture barricade with standard attacks.

Ceremonial Warhammer

The Ceremonial Warhammer can be found in an eagle's nest at X:82 Y:39, which can be accessed by climbing the Knotted Roots that are across from the aforementioned Enchanted Door. Here are several ways to collect this ceremonial weapon without killing the eagles:

  • Distract the eagles with a Bard's song, Minor Illusion, or another similar effect, and then steal the weapon.
  • Use an Invisibility Potion, grab the ceremonial weapon, and then escape with a spell like Misty Step.
  • Use Mage Hand to move the weapon while the party remains at a safe distance.

Mace

While not a ceremonial weapon, players will need a mace in order to solve the stained-glass window puzzle. While any mace seems to do the job, there is a Rusty Mace nearby that players can definitely use, and here are details on how to reach that Baldur's Gate 3 weapon:

  • Head south past the Enchanted Door where the Ceremonial Battleaxe was found.
  • Pass through the door on the left, and jump down the broken staircase that is beyond.
  • At the bottom of the stairs, break through the barricade in the northwest corner of the room (X:97 Y:46).
  • Go left after the barricade.
  • The Rusty Mace is on the ground at X:85 Y:32.

Baldur's Gate 3: What to Do with Ceremonial Weapons

With the weapons in hand, players are ready to solve the associated puzzle. To do this, fans should make their way to the stained-glass window in the room at X:74 Y:68 and perform these actions:

  • Throw the Ceremonial Battleaxe on top of Dawnmaster Vaseid's pedestal at X:74 Y:69.
  • Throw the Ceremonial Warhammer on top Dawnmaster Seed's pedestal at X:77 Y:75.
  • Throw the mace on top of Dawnmaster Stockhold's pedestal at X:75 Y:71.

Upon placing the final weapon, an opening will appear in the wall at X:74 Y:75, revealing a pouch. Inside this pouch, fans will find a note to the next Dawnmaster as well as the Dawnmaster's Crest. For those players that are curious, this item can be used during the acquisition of Baldur's Gate 3's Blood of Lathander, though it is possible to obtain that legendary mace without ever collecting the crest.

Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC. A PS5 version releases on September 6.
