If the main character avatar pretends to be a True Soul to infiltrate Moonrise Towers before saving or killing the Nightsong, they can explore most of the tower, free the Tiefling prisoners, get some loot, and even poke around in Thorm's and other people's rooms. When walking through the main floor, an orc named Z'rell and Thorm will order the player to kill or let go of a few goblins who worked under Minthara. After that is taken care of, players can meet Z'rell again up the stairs.

She will order players to go out in search of Balthazar, an undead who was supposed to be bringing the Nightsong back to Thorm but has not been heard from or seen since. In order to get to him, Z'rell will order the player's character to get the Lantern from his chambers. But there is a lot more stuff than just a pixie light source in the rooms; there is also a hidden chamber and an access point for Ketheric Thorm's rooms.

When facing the bookshelves, there are four Protruding books that Baldur's Gate 3 players can interact with. One of these will start the opening process, and the other three books will just spill poison gas all over the protagonist. Players should make sure to choose the Protruding book in the upper right-hand corner. Next, they should interact with one of the bodies lying on the floor of Balthazar's rooms and pick up a heart.

The pedestal next to the bookshelf on the right side will be interactable, and players can put something on it. Placing a heart on the pedestal will cause the bookshelf to open, revealing the secrets inside.
