Summary
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch without fan-favorite game modes like Infected.
- Infected will come a week after launch, but it's unclear when other party game modes will be added.
- The game will follow a seasonal content update model with new maps and modes.
It's been confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be launching without some fan favorite game modes. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of the most-hyped new Call of Duty games in years. Developer Treyarch has a ton of goodwill with franchise fans, and so many are looking forward to the next installment in the long-running series.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's launch is mere weeks away, and so new information is coming out about the game on a regular basis. Just recently, it was confirmed that Nuketown will be coming to the game on November 1, voice and text chat will be moderated, and that fan feedback is being taken into account with updates made to the Liberty Falls Zombies map.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Will Moderate Voice and Text Chat
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will feature updated voice and text chat moderation systems at launch, according to the developers at Treyarch.
This info dump also included the unfortunate confirmation that Black Ops 6 will be missing fan-favorite game modes at launch. It was confirmed that Infected will be added about a week after launch, while other game modes will have to wait for later. This means that it's highly likely that popular modes like Gun Game will not be available when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, an unfortunate trend that has been going on for years.
Don't Expect Black Ops 6 to Have All Party Game Modes at Launch
Party game modes have consistently skipped Call of Duty launch dates in recent years. This is especially disappointing for the Black Ops sub-series, as that is where many of the franchise's party game modes originated. There should still be plenty of multiplayer content at launch, but it's still disappointing that some of the more unique Call of Duty multiplayer modes are going to be missing in action on October 25.
On the bright side, Black Ops 6 is at least launching with 2v2 Gunfight in tow. After Gunfight was introduced in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot, there have been times when the fan-favorite game mode has made a delayed debut in subsequent entries. Luckily, that won't be the case for Black Ops 6, with at least four 2v2 maps on the way.
Of course, even more maps will be added to Black Ops 6 over time, just as new game modes will be introduced. Black Ops 6 will have a seasonal content update model like previous games in the series, which means fans can expect a steady flow of new maps, modes, and more leading up to the release of the 2025 Call of Duty game. Details on what this will entail beyond Nuketown and Infected have yet to be revealed, so fans should keep an eye out for more information.

Success!
Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
