The first five Civilization games never even made it to console, such were the limitations back then. Should You Buy Civ 7 on PC or Console? (PS5 or PC)

Anyone who plans on modding Civ 7 should buy the game on PC. If you aren't interested in mods though, there's no reason not to play Civ 7 on PS5 or Xbox Series. For anyone who's still on the fence, it's worth noting that Civilization VII will support cross-progression through the player's 2K account, so some may opt to pick the game up on one platform at launch and then grab it again for the other when it goes on sale somewhere further down the line.
