Black Ops 6 features a large roster of weapons that players can get their hands on, providing them with a ton of options to consider for Multiplayer. While Assault Rifles like the AMES 85 are bound to be popular picks, the Light Machine Gun category may just be one of the most underrated weapon types. Though players do not necessarily have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to LMGs, the GPMG-7 is a great pick.
The GPMG-7 is a Light Machine Gun that most players may not get their hands on until hours after their initial Black Ops 6 playthrough, as it will be unlocked upon reaching level 52. Though not exactly boasting the best damage-per-shot of its category, the GPMG-7 leads the way in fire rate, along with being rather good in terms of maintaining its damage range. Though its recoil is off the charts, it can be made better with the best loadout.

CoD: Black Ops 6 - How To Unlock Mastery Camos
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 offers a brand-new set of Multiplayer and Zombies Mastery Camos for players to unlock. Here's how to get them.
Best GPMG-7 Loadout In Black Ops 6
The main drawbacks of the GPMG-7 are its blistering fire rate, which can make recoil difficult to manage, and its tendency to burn through ammunition quickly. This is where the below attachment combinations come into play, which drastically improves vertical recoil control, along with also providing a larger magazine to counteract the high RPM.
Other attributes have also received a buff with the following attachments, including an increase in general mobility and a boost in aim-down-sight speed. Though not exactly serving as the best weapon in Black Ops 6, it bridges the gap.
- Kepler Microflex (Optic)
- Compensator (Muzzle)
- Extended Mag I (Magazine)
- Quickdraw Grip (Rear Grip)
- Light Stock (Stock)
Best Perks & Wildcard
The GPMG-7 is an excellent weapon, but it's fairly long reload can be a bit of a hindrance at the worst of times. However, with the right Perks and Wildcards in Black Ops 6, this flaw can be mitigated. With the following options, players can expect to swap to their Secondary much faster, along with being able to move quicker whilst reloading — both of which will work wonders for countering a slow reload.
Other benefits include a subtle increase in tactical sprint duration, along with the much-needed benefit of resupplying ammunition — perfect for keeping that ammo reserve topped up.
- Gung-Ho (Perk 1)
- Fast Hands (Perk 2)
- Double Time (Perk 3)
- Enforcer (Specialty)
- Perk Greed (Wildcard)
- Scavenger (Perk Greed)

Secondary Recommendations
As mentioned earlier, the GPMG-7 has a fairly slow reload speed, which may hinder players in gunfights once they’ve burned through their magazine. However, pairing Fast Hands with a solid Handgun may just allow players to win a gunfight in situations where a reload is not possible. For players looking for a good Handgun, the Grekhova is a great option, capable of taking down opponents up close with little effort. For players looking for an option with better damage range, the Stryder .22 and the 9mm PM are also decent considerations.
