The Winter 2025 season is just around the corner, and the full list of anime series that will be simulcast on Crunchyroll over the course of the period between January and March 2025 has just been released. In addition to returning popular titles like Dr. Stone, Shangri-La Frontier and Re:Zero, the streaming platform boasts up to 40 new, returning and continuing anime series that will be simulcast during the Winter 2025 season.

Here is the full rundown of the various titles coming to Crunchyroll next month, including their expected release dates and episode counts so you can be fully prepared to curate your anime viewing.

New Anime Coming to Crunchyroll in Winter 2025

MAPPA's Upcoming Original Anime Included Alongside New Anime Adaptations

The Winter anime season starts officially on December 31, with new shows starting over the course of January until the last new anime title of the season premieres on February 5. We will list each upcoming title in order of their premiere date, starting with the airing of a new installment in the ever-growing Fate franchise.

December 31

The title ushering in the Winter 2025 anime season is the A-1 Pictures-produced Fate/strange Fake, in which, after the end of the fifth Holy Grail War, a new Holy Grail has reportedly emerged somewhere in America. The series adapts the novel by the same name written by Durarara!! author Ryohgo Narita, illustrated by Morii Shizuki.

January 1

  • Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective, an anime adaptation of the Ameku Takao's Detective Karte novel series Mikito Chinen and illustrated by Noizi Ito, is set to hit Crunchyroll on New Year's Day. The series is produced by studio Project No.9 (Senpai Is an Otokonoko) and follows the Ten’ikai General Hospital’s Supervisory Department of Diagnostic Pathology, which handles cases far too difficult for other physicians to treat. The department also serves as a think tank where complicated police cases and mysteries are also solved by the brilliant doctor, Takao Ameku.
  • Grisaia Phantom Trigger by Bibury Animation Studio is set several years after the events of the original Fruit of Grisaia (2014) series, with the new anti-terror organization, SORD, at the centre of the narrative, training young girls in various deadly skills.
  • Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four!, produced by GEEKTOYS and CompTown, is an isekai that follows Denosuke Uchimura, a regular salaryman who was one day plucked from his normal life and made to serve as one of the Demon Lord's Four Heavenly Kings, but is afforded absolutely no special powers to perform in his new occupation.
  • Studio Comet's Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time is another isekai title that follows Takumi Iruma, a young man summoned to the fantasy world of Mildgard by mistake and is granted the ultra-powerful alchemy skill by the goddess Nolyn, an ability that enables him to create anything.

January 2

  • Momentary Lily, produced by GoHands, is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which robotic invaders have wiped out all life, leaving only Renge to fight the scourge with her special powers. She eventually meets five other young women, who also have unique abilities, and together they try to make the most of life while learning more about themselves.

January 3

  • I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ is exactly what it says on the tin, following Saito Hojo, a high school student set to inherit his grandfather's corporation, but only if he marries Akane Sakuramori, a girl in his class whom he despises and feels the same way about him. They are determined to keep their betrothal a secret, but over time, the distance between them starts to close.

January 4

  • Another celebration of Japanese regional differences emerges in the form of studio Millepensee's OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She's Saying, which follows Teruaki Nakamura's life after transferring to Okinawa and the crush he develops on Kyan-san; however, her regional dialect makes it difficult for him to understand what she's saying.

January 5

  • ZENSHU, an original anime by MAPPA, follows Natsuko Hirose, who started her career in animation after high school and quickly becomes a director, with her first anime becoming a huge hit. Now heralded a genius director, the pressure is on Hirose as her next project doesn't go quite as well because it's a romantic comedy – and unfortunately, she knows nothing about love, so she's unable to create the storyboard, putting a halt to the series' production.
  • I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons by EMT Squared follows Leticia Dorman, a daughter of a duke, who isn't happy about her engagement to Crown Prince Clarke, which has been set since their childhood and thus subjected her to a lifetime of training to become queen. She has hoped that he'd one day fall for someone else, so she's thrilled when he arrives at a ball with someone else at his arm, immediately moving to start her new life in the countryside. However, one day, Prince Clarke shows up at her door, determined to win her heart.

January 6

  • SynergySP presents a story of longing with Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms, a series that follows Mona Kawai, the queen bee at her school who has never failed to charm an interlocutor, until the arrival of transfer student Medaka Kuroiwa, who, as the title explains, doesn't fall for her charms.
  • Promise of Wizard by LIDENFILMS is an isekai set in a magical world where wizards coexist with humans and face the annual threat of an enormous deadly moon that attacks the planet. Their best chance of survival are the Wizards of Sage, who combat the supernatural threat, but this time, otherworlder Akira Masaki learns that she was summoned to the strange world to lead the wizard
