What's The Worst Dark Urge Moment In Baldur's Gate 3?
It's well-known at this point, but I still think the worst Dark Urge moment is when you are forced to kill Alfira and mangle her corpse at camp (if you didn't knock her out beforehand). Even if you turn her away from camp, your character apparently hunts her down in their sleep and kills her anyway, and it's easily one of the most grisly images in the whole game. And it's right at the beginning, too, setting a gruesome tone for the playthrough.
Do You Save Scum? Why Or Why Not?
In?Baldur's Gate 3?I save scummed so I could see more of the game on a single playthrough, and made choices I wouldn't have necessarily normally made to see what the outcome would be. But I wouldn't save scum to fix a bad dice roll in combat, or ensure I had a "perfect" playthrough. Mistakes and bad rolls are a part of the game, but I don't think there's anything wrong with using quicksaves to test out dialogue options or what the results of decisions will be.?
It Would Be Great If You Could Choose Your Starting Location In New Playthroughs More
For those big games with tons of replayability, I think it would be great if you could opt to skip certain opening sequences and get more into the free exploration component of the game. I don't expect to drop in halfway through, but for games that I have put a lot of hours and multiple playthroughs into, it would be great to have some flexibility. For example, as iconic as the intro to?Skyrim?is, I wouldn't mind skipping the whole initial dragon attack. It's not a perfect and polished idea, but I can't be the only one who'd like that?
Show Us Your Custom Baldur's Gate 3 Tav!
With the amount of customization mods now out there at this point including hairstyles, wings, horns, extra Races, and more, customizing a Tav has never been so much fun in Baldur's Gate 3. Go ahead and show us your favorite custom Tavs that you have built below! Here's an image of the Tav from my latest playthrough, a Shadar-Kai Gloomstalker Assassin.?
What's The Best RPG You Played In 2024, Old or New?
It's been more than a year since it came out, but in my mind,?Baldur's Gate 3?is still unmatched when it comes to RPGs – and is going to remain unmatched for a long, long time. There's a?ridiculous?amount of player choice and narrative directions the game can take, a mind-boggling number of skills and builds that are viable, and the graphics, voice acting performances, and art/music direction are some of the best in the genre. It's still being updated, and set to add an extra subclass to?every single class in the game?early 2025, which has kept it fresh when it comes to replayability in 2024 and beyond. I have no doubt it's going to be regarded as one of the best games of all time in a few years (if you don't already think that).
ICMYI: Baldur's Gate 3 Has A Huge Patch Coming Up!
I'm really excited for this patch. It just seems like Larian is never going to stop releasing major updates to?Baldur's Gate 3?more than a year after its launch, despite the developer stating that they aren't going to be working on anything big for the game. But here we are on the umpteenth major post-release update, and now we're getting a new sub-class for every class and several other updates coming to the game too – I mean, 12 subclasses (with new spells and mechanics) is no small update, right? I just wish I didn't have to wait until 2025 to try out the Hexblade or new Priest Death Magic specs.
Share Your Most Fun BG3 Build
I had a lot of fun trying to pump up Eldritch Blast as much as possible on my Warlock. I played through the game normally and relatively blind, then went back into an older save and tried to amass every possible source of bonuses to Eldritch Blast and Cantrips, and ended up being able to deal around 50 damage with every cast of this free spell pretty reliably. You need a lot of specific pieces of gear, and bonuses from allies, to make it work. But being able to cast a free spell that deals an enormous chunk of damage (and flings them backward) is pretty bloody efficient and fun.
What Are Your Favorite Mods From BG3's In-Game Mod Manager?
There is one that is my absolute favorite without a doubt - the Recruit Alfira mod. This pretty much lets you recruit Alfira as a companion for the rest of the game after helping her with her song in the Grove. This is complete with a recruitment scene from the Durge gameplay, apart from, well, the gruesome parts. For anyone who wished they could've had this lovable Tiefling Bard tagging along during their adventure, now you can! She even has her own tent at camp, complete with accessories that suit Alfira, such as a little music box and books.
What Game Would You Recommend To A Baldur's Gate 3 Fan?
Pillars of Eternity is a great CRPG for fans of fantasy settings. It's both different and similar to the original Baldur's Gate games in a lot of ways, but it's unique enough in terms of characters and story to stand on its own. If you want to take a break from saving yet another fantasy world, then maybe the Fallout-esque Wasteland 3 is the game to pick up.?

What Build Did You Use For Your First Baldur's Gate 3 Playthrough?
I tried messing around with a few classes before ultimately settling on an Oath of Vengeance Paladin. Naturally, I did everything I could to make Divine Smite hit as hard as possible. Most of my first playthrough was spent bonking everything with the biggest weapon I could find while praying for crits to land.
What's Your Favorite Melee Class In Baldur's Gate 3?
I finished my first playthrough with an Oath of Vengeance Paladin, and while I enjoyed it a lot, I had a ton more fun using a Barbarian. Throwing corpses at enemies to deal damage and setup Necromancy spells is one of my favorite combos in the game.
What's Your Favorite Spellcaster Class In Baldur's Gate 3?
I love Warlocks, both in theme and the fact that they get access to Eldritch Blast right from the start. The idea of drawing power from an eldritch sugar parent is both funny and awesome to me, and yes, Eldritch Blast is my favorite cantrip.
Who's Your Favorite Origin Character To Play In Baldur's Gate 3?
For me, it's Shadowheart. Playing through her story in the first person is really rewarding, and as the bearer of the artifact, she feels the most like a protagonist out of the origin characters. Plus, her unique Cleric of Shar dialogue options are pretty entertaining.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Newbies: What Was the First Big Mistake You Made?
Recently, I joined up with two of my friends to see them through their first-ever Baldur's Gate 3 playthrough in a multiplayer campaign. Upon finishing the first battle against the Goblins outside of the Grove, I told them both "Don't forget to check the dead bodies for loot, we can sell these items to a merchant if we don't need them". After stepping a few feet inside the Grove, we hear an "uh-oh" from one of the friends, who has proceeded to climb the ladder up to the top of the gate and loot Kanon's dead body (freshly killed in the Goblin fight cutscene), while his poor sister was actively grieving over him. She learned very quickly that "we should loot the dead bodies" does not mean we should loot every dead body, as this initiated combat on top of the bridge and forced us to rush up and help her, killing the other individuals placed there, too.?
Which Race Was Your First Baldur's Gate 3 Character?
I ended up going with a Tiefling for my first Baldur's Gate 3 character. I picked this knowing there was a chance I'd encounter some conflict and judgment along the way with the odd individual, knowing the stigma regarding Tieflings in the world of Faerun. However, I hadn't expected to be faced with it as soon as I arrived at Emerald Grove. As my character was very much evil-aligned, she ended up taking Minthara's side, betraying and slaughtering everyone in the Grove - including her own people/Race. As you can imagine, this certainly made a memorable first Act of the game!
Did You Kill Any Companions During Your First Baldur's Gate 3 Run?
Sadly, I most definitely did. I decided to run an evil-aligned character for my first playthrough, so she ended up teaming up with Minthara to slaughter the Grove. Of course, Wyll wound up in this fight, so he was killed in the process. Because of this choice, I ended up killing not only Wyll, but also leaving Halsin to presumably die in the Goblin camp, and being locked out of recruiting Karlach, who I assume was killed by the fake Paladins of Tyr.

When it comes to the best game screenshots there are few games with better visual design and environmental aesthetics than?Elden Ring. I got this screenshot while preparing for?Shadow of the Erdtree?and thought to get a screenshot of The Blasphemous Serpent before picking up the Serpent Killer. Rykard's boss arena is easily one of the most beautiful (and just plain terrifying)?Elden Ring?locations,?and there's a really eerie feeling that you get upon first stepping in and seeing this great serpent sleeping amongst the countless bodies of other Tarnished. But using?Elden Ring?screenshots should almost be cheating – there are countless moments and environmental landscapes in?Elden Ring?that?could be a contender for the best game screenshot of all time. Baldur's Gate 3?is one of the most beautiful games of all time, and thanks to its camera options it's pretty easy to get great shots of your characters or the game's varied environments. I got this screenshot when I entered Act 3 during the night sequence – as you climb up the ladder in camp, if you pan over with your camera and turn off your UI you can see this beautiful landscape shot of Baldur's Gate and the surrounding coastline under moonlight. What Is a Game All Baldur’s Gate 3 Fans Must Play?
While I'm yet to find the opportunity to play through one of these games to completion myself, after watching a lot of gameplay streams and discussing the franchise with friends who are very much invested, I'll confidently recommend the Dragon Age series (specifically, Dragon Age: Origins) as a brilliant choice for Baldur's Gate 3 fans to pick up. While combat is not turn-based such as Baldur's Gate, these titles are also set in a fantasy world and have some great storytelling/lore and interesting companion characters that BG3 fans will surely enjoy.
How Many Baldur's Gate 3 Companions Did You Successfully Recruit During Your First Run?
I opted for a more chaotic and murderous / evil route during my first playthrough, so I locked myself out of quite a few companions. I only managed to recruit Astarion, Lae'zel, Gale, Shadowheart and Minthara.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Which NPC Was Most Unlikable?
I'd have to say Wulbren. I found it so infuriating that Barcus risked his life to save him on multiple occasions, yet Wulbren continued to treat him awfully. Not to mention the way he acts after you take the time to track him down, free him, and save his people. Never mind kicking the squirrel at Emerald Grove, I want to kick Wulbren and send him flying the same way!
Who’s Your Least Favorite Baldur’s Gate 3 Companion?
Definitely Gale. Everything about his character annoyed me so much and the nagging was so frustrating when I already found his character to be infuriating. Blah blah blah, Magic Item this, Mystra that.....To shut that Wizard up I ended up just throwing him the worst items I could find, on occasion.
Which BG3 NPC Would You Like To Romance?
There are so many brilliant and interesting NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, so it's impossible to narrow it down to just a few. For me, I think Abdirak, Rath, Dammon, He Who Was, Zevlor, Alfira, Lakrissa, Gortash, Kagha, and Araj Oblodra would all be particularly interesting as romanceable NPCs. More importantly, many of these characters would also suit romantic interactions with characters taking a more chaotic or evil playthrough path, especially as there is much less content for this route.
What's The Most Powerful Being in BG3?
Vlaakith! (just kidding)... Honestly, if we're considering the Gods/Goddesses, then I would probably think Mystra is the most powerful being, though her power is distributed through her chosen. Otherwise, there's also Shar and Selune, Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul, and last but not least, Withers. If we're excluding gods altogether, then I think both Elminster and Orin are honorable mentions, as well as Durge, and Dame Aylin (in terms of lore, as her gameplay seems to be a bit hit or miss between the various playthroughs of fans)
