Yelan's last appearance was back in Version 3.4 during the Lantern Rite Festival. Many players expected her to make at least a small appearance in this year’s Lantern Rite, especially since she is a Liyue character.

Genshin Impact Fans Express Frustration Over Yelan's Prolonged Absence

Some comments noted that Yelan's absence fits her character, since she is portrayed as a secretive and mysterious agent. The official storyline reveals that, while Yelan claims to work for Liyue's Ministry of Civil Affairs, she is frequently absent. A few fans have suggested that the game could benefit from allowing players to interact with other playable characters while exploring Genshin Impact's overworld. This would help reduce the perception that certain characters are less important than others.
