Hogwarts Legacy is full of hilarious situations, and a player recently shared one involving a dragon snatching a flying cow. This interaction shows that bizarre things can happen in open-world games, and when they involve some of the best mythical beasts in gaming such as dragons, it gets wild fast.
Dragons have been a pretty important part of the Harry Potter lore since the books first came out. Most fans will remember the time that Hagrid won a dragon’s egg in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, or perhaps the adult dragons that were featured in the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Obviously, these magical beasts could not be left out of the game. Even before Hogwarts Legacy was available, there were already some clips available showing dragons in a pit, which hyped fans about their appearance.
Now, one Hogwarts Legacy player not only saw a cool dragon while traveling around the open world, but also witnessed it snatch a cow right in front of him. In the video posted by Reddit user Smogtownthrowaway, it’s possible to see a wizard flying near some farms. The player then lands and finds a cow. Hilariously, he uses Flipendo to make the cow fly at the exact moment that a huge dragon swoops and grabs it, flying away with his new prize.
In the comments, a few Redditors joked about the situation. User Anakerie theorized that perhaps the dragon was actually helping the poor cow, as some random evil wizard was playing “cow tipping” with them. Others voiced some disappointment that even after hours of playing the title, they were yet to find a dragon outside of story quests. Even then, they could not keep them as pets or mounts, which led others to argue whether that maybe this possibility ended up cut in the final content. That’s not a bad guess, as some of the content that was originally planned but later omitted in Hogwarts Legacy could even lead to a sequel if the developers wanted.
Not only the Hogwarts Legacy world is prone to crazy interactions such as this one, but it's also filled with Easter eggs that were carefully crafted by the developers. Recently, a player found a reference to the Weasley twins Fred and George in Hogsmeade. They often hang around Zonko’s Joke Shop and if the player is patient enough, it’s possible to see these two lookalikes of the famous twins being expelled from the shop.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
