LEGO has just unveiled a line of six Mario Kart sets that will launch in 2025, featuring building block versions of classic Nintendo characters like Donkey Kong and Baby Mario. LEGO and Nintendo first teamed up in 2020, and the results have been a smash hit for both companies. In addition to the numerous expansion packs for the LEGO Super Mario board game, there has been a line of LEGO Animal Crossing sets and a special Legend of Zelda set featuring the Great Deku Tree from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild.

Nintendo boasts tons of iconic franchises that make for great LEGO sets, and many fans have been anxious to see what's coming next from the pair. Earlier this year, Nintendo and LEGO announced a LEGO Super Mario Kart set on the annual Mario Day holiday. No further details about this set were shared at the time, save that it would hit store shelves in 2025, which coincides with the fifth anniversary of the LEGO Super Mario line that helped pave the way for this latest high-octane crossover.

Nintendo and LEGO have finally revealed more about the upcoming LEGO Mario Kart line, as reported by IGN. This line consists of six colorful LEGO sets inspired by the Mario Kart games, featuring some of the most popular characters, vehicles, and power-ups at varying prices. During the announcement, LEGO stated that the new Mario Kart line would “get fans’ creative engines revving as they can turn unexpected surfaces into the ultimate Mario Kart track."

LEGO Mario Kart 2025 Set List

  • Yoshi Bike - $14.99 (133 pieces)
  • Standard Kart - $19.99 (174 pieces)
  • Donkey Kong and DK Jumbo -$34.99 (387 pieces)
  • Baby Mario versus Baby Luigi - $29.99 (390 pieces)
  • Toad's Garage - $39.99 (390 pieces)
  • Baby Peach & Grand Prix - $79.99 (823 pieces)

The centerpiece of the LEGO Mario Kart line is the Standard Kart set, which consists of Mario’s classic red kart and a Toad mechanic, but no driver. Presumably, a figure from the LEGO Super Mario lineup can be placed behind the wheel for a more interactive experience. Meanwhile, the Yoshi Bike set consists of Yoshi’s green motorcycle from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a blue Yoshi to ride it. The Donkey Kong and DK Jumbo set contains the legendary gorilla and his trusty barrel kart, and the Baby Mario versus Baby Luigi set adds the infant siblings and their own respective mini-karts.

The Toad's Garage LEGO Mario Kart set is up next, featuring a pair of mushroom workers and a speedy Toad-themed kart for any character to ride. Finally, Baby Peach & Grand Prix is the biggest and most expensive set in the line and comes with a starting gate, buildable figures of Mario Kart’s resident referee Lakitu, Baby Peach, Toad, and Lemmy Koopa of the Koopalings, their respective vehicles, and several Item Boxes and power-ups. The newly announced LEGO Mario Kart sets will be released on January 1, 2025.
