Following the recent announcement of Tales of the Shire being delayed from its original 2024 release window, many fans were hopeful to hear some positive news during the September 22 A Hobbit Day Showcase. Luckily, they were treated to an exciting reveal of the new scheduled launch for the cozy Hobbit game.

Tales of the Shire Picks Up One Ball Dropped By Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Tales of the Shire and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet don't have much in common, but certain animations in Tales of the Shire shine where Pokemon's don't.
During the livestreamed A Hobbit Day Showcase, Private Division and Weta Workshop confirmed that Tales of the Shire will now be releasing on March 25, 2025. It was previously announced that the game had been delayed from an initial 2024 launch, in order to allow the team to make the game the best that it can be. As a special treat for viewers of the A Hobbit Day Showcase, fans were given some early looks at key gameplay mechanics along with the adjusted launch date. The relaxing title looks to provide a much more laid-back experience compared to other games based on The Lord of the Rings, offering audiences a fresh take on the beloved realm of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Tales of the Shire Releasing March 25
Planned to launch for PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and even Netflix Games, Tales of the Shire will include a number of familiar life-sim game mechanics such as cooking, fishing, decorating, and more. Players will be able to customize their own playable Hobbit character as well as their Hobbit hole, with unique furniture and decor options to make every fan feel at home in The Shire. Fans will also be able to invite NPCs to their very own Hobbit parties, similar to Bilbo Baggins' birthday celebration from the books. Both long-time fans of Tolkien's Middle-earth and players of cozy life-sim video games will have plenty to enjoy when Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game launches on March 25.
A number of highly-anticipated video game releases have been hit with delays in recent months, but thankfully, Tales of the Shire is already on an adjusted course for March 2025. Whether the game will live up to the often lofty expectations of Tolkien fans remains to be seen, but the A Hobbit Day Showcase and newly announced release date have kept enthusiasm high for Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game.
