Marvel Rivals offers a wide selection of different characters, each with their own playstyles. Players that enjoy making use of turrets will want Namor to be one of the characters they test out in the practice range. Namor brings a solid balance of simplicity and performance. There are several 2-Star difficulty characters, all of which are great picks for new players still looking to learn the game.
Namor has a straightforward kit, but players will need to invest time and effort in understanding how to play Namor. Once they get a hold of how he plays, they will see vast improvements in a short amount of time. His use of Monster Spawn turrets has made some draw Overwatch 2 comparisons to that of Torbjorn.

Marvel Rivals: How To Play Adam Warlock
Adam Warlock is one of the strongest Strategists in Marvel Rival, and while he takes some patience to master, he's worth a pick in most teams.
Namor’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
- Namor’s Health: 250 Health
- Namor’s Difficulty: 2 Stars
- Namor’s Role: Duelist
Like any of the game’s best Duelist characters, Namor is all about getting into the thick of the action. His Blessing of the Deep can give him some survivability and presence on the battlefield, and his Monstro Spawn can divide attention. He’ll need to utilize these traits, as he is not one of the game’s characters known for high mobility.
Ability Name |
Ability Type |
Description |
---|---|---|
Trident of Neptune |
Primary Attack |
Namor starts the game holding his trident. Attacking will cause him to throw it at the targeted location before it magically reappears in his hand. Each hit with the Trident will reduce the cooldown of Aquatic Domination. |
Aquatic Domination |
Activate Ability |
This ability has 2 charges, with each one calling forth an octopus-looking creature known as a Monstro Spawn. They will then target and attack any enemies within their range, contributing to the player’s overall damage output. These turrets are rather fragile and can be taken out by enemies, but landing enough primary attacks can help maintain a high upkeep of them. |
Wrath of the Seven Seas |
Alternate Attack |
Hitting an enemy with this alternate attack will cause any Monstro on the field to perform a special attack against them. |
Blessing of the Deep |
Active Ability |
This ability can allow players to leap into the air and reposition themselves — while also mitigating damage dealt to them. This can help make them feel like one of the more tanky characters, despite not being a Vanguard. Players will be able to ascend and descend while this ability is active. |
Frozen Spawn |
Team-Up Ability |
While another teammate is playing Luna Snow, Namor will have access to an extra Active Ability called Frozen Spawn. This will allow him to throw out a special kind of Monstro Spawn that has been infused with ice. |
Horn of Proteus |
Ultimate Ability |
Namor will pull out and blow his Horn of Proteus. This ability will highlight a large circle on the ground and wait for players to confirm its use. After confirming the location, the beast known as Giganto will fall from above, striking all enemies within the area of effect. This will nullify foes' mobility abilities, making them much easier to pick off. |
When to Use Namor’s Ultimate
A lot of the game’s characters have Ultimate moves that are best used when enemies are all grouped together. Players will want to wait for one of these moments to present itself, as using it too early means missing the optimal opportunity and risk losing a lot of ground during a match. Teammates playing a hero such as Iron Man will be able to combo their Ultimates alongside Namors thanks to its mitigation of enemy mobility abilities, allowing for easier enemy team wipes.

A well-crafted team composition in Marvel Rivals boosts your winning chances, with team-up abilities being essential for success.
Tips and Tricks for Playing Namor in Marvel Rivals
Players will want to plant Monstro Spawn as soon as possible to see the most damage possible, but getting into a solo fight can see these turrets being destroyed in mere moments. It is best to follow teammates into battle and place down Monstro Spawn while enemies' attention is spread out. After summoning 2 Monstro Spawn, players will want to use their alternate fire to get the most out of it, but this ability is still worth using if there is just 1 Monstro Spawn.
Namor can only have 2 Monstro Spawn out at once. This included the one summoned using Frozen Spawn. So if players use their Frozen Spawn ability followed by Aquatic Domination twice, this will cause their Frozen Monstro Spawn to leave the field after 1 or 2 shots.
Namor is a great choice for charging on the frontlines and defensively holding a point. However, players should not overlook just how well he can be at flanking. Players that use Blessing of the Deep will be able to relocate to the sides of their enemies. This lets them summon some Monstro Spawn and strike while their foes are focused on Namor’s teammates.
