Marvel Rivals has earned a lot of praise with the release of the very first season - Season 0: Dooms' Rise. During this season, players have been able to learn to play over thirty different characters, find their mains, begin to climb through the Competitive Ranks, and even purchase profile decorations/banners and various cosmetics for their favorite heroes and villains. These cosmetics can be earned in several different ways, such as through the Battle Pass, purchase in the shop, earning from Twitch drops, and more.

One of the additional ways in which players can earn cosmetics and other items including emotes, profile banners, and sprays, is through in-game events and limited-time game mode opportunities. The very first of these to occur is the Season 0 Winter Celebration event for the Holidays, bringing a new limited-time game mode, event challenges, and a small collection of skins that can be obtained during this time. Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration Event Explained

Marvel Rivals' Winter event began on December 20, 2024, and will be available live in-game for players to experience until January 9, 2025, in which the event will conclude. During this time, players will be able to access a holiday-themed card that features different winter-themed rewards for Jeff the Land Shark, including a spray, profile banner, emote, and new skin. To earn these free items, players will need to collect Gold and Silver Frost, which will grant you progression and unlock new decorations for your card.

To earn Gold and Silver Frost, players will simply need to complete Winter Challenges, which can be achieved by playing games of the limited-time Winter game mode, Jeff's Winter Splash Festival.

In this arcade game mode, players will only be restricted to playing as and against Jeff the Land Shark in 4v4 team matches. Similarly to the Splatoon series, players must then use their primary fire to paint terrain, working with your team to gain the most percentage on the meter. At the end of the match, the team with the most percentage of terrain painted will win.

All Winter Event Skins for Marvel Rivals

In addition to the limited-time Jeff's Winter Splash Festival game mode, there are also a small selection of holiday-themed character cosmetics up for grabs while the event is live. The first of these skins is titled Fuzzy Cuddlefin for Jeff the Land Shark and can be earned for free as the final reward in the Winter event, needing a total of 500 Frost progression. The second and third skins are Holiday Happiness Groot and Wild Winter Rocket Raccoon, which can be purchased from the shop as individual bundles or together through the Best Winter Buds bundle at a discounted price.

Additionally, some upcoming holiday-themed cosmetics will appear throughout the rest of the event, with Snow Symbiote Venom and Frozen Demon Magik both becoming available for purchase from the shop at a later date.
