The Walking Dead has one of its stars getting back to work after missing a few days due to suffering a concussion. In the middle of shooting the final season of The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus suffered a concussion that had him missing work for a bit.

It's believed that Reedus' injury occurred on March 11 in Georgia, where the production of The Walking Dead's final season is well underway. While it's unclear exactly how the injury occurred, it led to him having to leave work for what ended up being a little over 10 days. After the actor had to miss time, his people confirmed that he was recovering well.

With a new Instagram post on his official account, Reedus did indeed confirm that he was healing well and will be back on The Walking Dead set this week. In the message, he did also let it slip that the injury led to him missing more than shooting for the popular zombie show. There was an event in Atlanta he apparently had to skip while he recovered.

Reedus started off his post by thanking his fans for their nice messages and did confirm that he'd been hurt and had to sit out. However, he added that he had been "getting better" and was "getting cleared" to get back to work on his show. While he didn't say what Atlanta event he had to miss, he did also apologize and said that he was "looking forward to it."

Entertainment Weekly confirmed that The Walking Dead did have to shut down shooting for a few days since Reedus has been central to the plot in this final season. Just how far behind the injury put the schedule isn't yet known, but the show is absolutely in the home stretch of finishing up the last season.

Of course, that doesn't mean that the franchise is going anywhere anytime soon. There have already been a number of spinoffs over the years and the latest one is set to star Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. As of now, it's not entirely clear if they will be the only stars from The Walking Dead who will eventually make the jump to this spinoff. It would seem likely that Daryl's relationship with Cohan's Maggie could mean that there is at least a chance that Reedus will be making a cameo at some point when that spinoff airs.

The Walking Dead airs on Sunday nights on AMC.
