How Does Rage Work In Path of Exile 2
Rage is a bonus that can be found on support gems or on gear. No matter how it is attached to your character, Rage will build up stacks every time you deal damage to an enemy with a melee hit. There are a few other options in how you build Rage, but it's usually with melee attacks. Rage can get up to 30 stacks active at once, and each stack makes your character deal 1% more attack damage. You can check how many stacks of Rage you have by checking the icon that appears along the far left corner of your hot bar.
While Rage is built up by dealing damage to enemies, active stacks will start to go away if you don't take damage or if your melee attacks stop hitting enemies for two seconds. After those two seconds, your stacks will quickly go away one at a time. The total number of stacks you get from a melee attack is determined by any active buff on your character that builds up rage, meaning you can stack Rage-generating boosts to get many stacks with only one attack. The best weapons for a build using Rage are:
- Maces
- Quarterstaffs

Path of Exile 2: How To Get More Passive Skill Points
Passive Skill Points are the basis for any build in Path of Exile 2; here's how to get more, outside of just leveling up.
How To Maximize Rage In Path of Exile 2
There are multiple ways to upgrade your Rage:
- Support Gems.
- Gear bonuses on magical gear.
- Passive skill upgrades.
Rage generated from Support Gems will only apply to the skills you put the gem on.
Using these methods, you can upgrade how much Rage is earned with each hit, your total maximum Rage, and how slowly the loss of Rage starts. Boosting your maximum Rage will also increase the total damage boost you get for maxing out your Rage. Though later Passive Skills, you can also get a powerful bonus that even gives you Rage when you get hit by an enemy, helping you quickly max out Rage when facing groups of enemies. Many of these bonuses are found later in the skill tree towards the far left side, so respec if needed to try and reach them.
