Pokemon GO is known for hosting many different events throughout the month. These include spotlight hours, a special event that lists one day for one specific Pokemon, or what is called the Pokemon GO Fast 2023: Global. This last event is coming up soon for all trainers worldwide. The special Mega Rayquaza will be available on Sunday, August 27, 2023, during this event.
Any trainer who happens to log onto Pokemon GO during the events hours will receive a short Special Research story, which will then give them a Meteorite. Those who decide to upgrade their ticket to the event will get an extended story that gives multiple Meteorites, as well as some other rewards.
How To Get & Mega Evolve Rayquaza
Rayquaza will only be obtainable through five-star raids in Pokemon GO. Rayquaza is a very powerful Pokemon, so it is best to plan out the attack with it. Ways to do this is joining with other trainers and bringing a very powerful or legendary Pokemon that Rayquaza will be a good suit to go up against. However, even with a good Pokemon to encounter Rayquara, it is best to keep four other trainers in the raiding party as well.
Rayquara is a Dragon/Flying-type. This Gen 3 Legendary doesn't evolve quite like other Mega-Evolving Pokemon. Rayquaza won't be able to Mega Evolve with just Mega Energy by itself. Trainers will need to teach their Rayquaza the Charged Attack Dragon Ascent before it will be able to evolve into its Mega evolution.
Does Rayquaza Have A Shiny?
Shiny Pokemon are a bit harder to catch than normal ones, but Rayquaza does have a Shiny that trainers can attempt to get. The Shiny is a beautiful gray and yellow color, as opposed to the original green and orange shades. It will be able to evolve into Mega Rayquaza just like any other Pokemon in those Shiny colors.
For a chance to catch a Rayquaza, be sure to get on Pokemon GO on Sunday, August 27, during the event raid hours. Players might also want to get their tickets upgraded so that they can get some extra rewards and benefits. The ticket can be purchased from the in-game store in the Pokemon GO mobile app. Also, remember to get a group together to take on the Rayquaza raids for the best outcome.
