Without a doubt, the introduction of friends and trading to Pokemon GO was a well-received move on Niantic's part, as it has quickly become a popular and highly used featured. That doesn't mean, however, Niantic was simply done with the addition, as the latest update brought a highly desired change to the friends list. Alongside the addition of stardust and experience points to gifts, this update added a way to sort the friends list.
While a simple feature, it makes the task of managing friends in Pokemon GO much easier. Niantic added the ability to sort friends by the choices below:
- Name A-Z
- Nickname A-Z
- Friendship Level
- Gift
Sorting by Name A-Z arranges all friends by their Trainer name in alphanumeric order, but Trainers can also now create nicknames for friends and sort them alphanumerically by that. Prioritizing friends becomes easier with this feature, as they can be numbered or somehow marked to appear at the top of the list.
The latter two options, sort by Friendship level and sort by Gift, are perhaps the more exciting additions. The first sorts friends by level, with the higher the friendship level, the higher they appear on the list. Sorting by Gift organizes friend by who has sent the player a gift, which can make gift-giving a lot simpler than before.
However, while these changes are great, they are not the only ones coming to the popular mobile ARG. Lucky is a new trait coming to Pokemon in the game, with Lucky Pokemon requiring less stardust to power up. It's worth mentioning that a Pokemon has to be traded before it becomes lucky, though.
More than that, a new berry is also coming to the game, and when included with the new changes to the friends list and lucky pokemon addition, it gives Pokemon GO players plenty of new options to ensure the quality of life for the game. Nevertheless, be sure to check back for more news as these options are expanded in the coming weeks. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
