A special interactive art museum will be opening in Yokohama next month called "Pokemon Colors." This exhibit will not just be something to look at, but something to experience. All the art will change and react when people interact with it, and of course, it will all be Pokemon-themed.

Pokemon Colors was first opened in 2021, to celebrate the Pokemon franchise's 25th anniversary. The exhibit returned again in 2022, around several different cities in Japan after positive reception the previous year. Again, the art exhibition was well-received by the public, which is why it is back for the third year in a row. This summer, it is coming to Yokohama, the port city directly south of Tokyo, and easily accessible from the Japanese capital city.

Japan has had a lot of success in recent years with interactive art exhibitions, which use state-of-the-art projection mapping technology to bring digital art of life. This allows museum-goers to have a more interactive experience rather than a passive one, seeing how art changes and reacts to their presence and drawing them into the art's world. This technology is exactly what makes Pokemon Colors so special and unforgettable for Pokemon fans.

In the Pokemon Colors museum, guests will travel through a colorful world full of many different kinds of Pokemon. There are also interactive games to play, making the experience even more immersive. As the name of the exhibit suggests, everything is done with an explosion of bright colors and lights, geometric shapes, whimsical backgrounds, and music, too.

A few of these include cycling on a stationary bike down a colorful road, encountering Pokemon along the way, playing a fishing game to see how many Pokemon you can catch, and shaking a huge punching bag to knock berries onto the ground for Pokemon to eat. Everything is done on digital screens, with plenty of changing colors and patterns. Plus there is very little language needed, making the exhibit accessible even if you do not speak Japanese.

The Pokemon Colors museum costs only ¥1200 ($8 USD) for adults, making it an affordable afternoon activity for anyone visiting or staying in the Tokyo area. It is in Landmark Hall, one of Yokohama's most iconic buildings, and just a few minutes walk from Minatomirai Station. If you are a Pokemon fan and in Tokyo this summer, you have to set aside some time to visit the Pokemon Colors exhibition!
