Game Rant

So many good Metroidvanias have come and gone since Hollow Knight, that I wonder if Silk Song and team cherry are still relevant. They've had zero communication and for me the hype is dead.

I say this as a mega-fan, and former r/hollowknightmemes /r/hollowknight, and /r/silksong sub with statues and all the merch. I have retired the clown paint and put away the copium.

They set the standard but there are games out there that answered and even raised the bar:

Ori, 9 Sols, Animal Well, Ultros, Lone Fungus, Ender Lillies, Blasphemous, Prince of Perisa, and Glimmer in Mirror to name a few

We shall see what happens, but I question what they will bring to the formula other than capitalizing on nostalgia. Nintendo has been doing that successfully for decades though, so what the hell do I know?
