Ahsoka fans were thrilled when its second season was greenlighted in January 2024. However, an insider claimed that Season 2 might be its final run because there are allegedly plans to cancel the show.

Ahsoka debuted on Disney Plus with an initial two-episode release on August 22, 2023. It follows Ahsoka Tano's (Rosario Dawson) adventures as she faces the various threats to the galaxy following the Empire's fall. Ahsoka is a former Jedi and apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, she tracks down Grand Admiral Thrawn, a powerful Imperial leader who vanished years ago. The series was a good mix of mentorship, redemption and hope. It was well-received, with generally positive reviews due to its connection with Star Wars. However, some had issues with the pacing. But there were a lot of cliffhangers that required answers, thus the need for another season. Fans were lucky that the series was renewed, but Ahsoka's story might not go beyond Season 2.

Movie insider Daniel Richtman claims on Patreon that Lucasfilm is already planning to give Ahsoka a good ending in case the story wraps up in Season 2 and will not be renewed for a third season. So, fans will likely see more answers next season instead of more cliffhangers. Richtman also previously claimed that the cast members will start filming in April 2025 after The Mandalorian and Grogu production wraps up. Thus, it is unclear whether Ahsoka Season 2 will be a continuation of Ahsoka Season 1 or the MandoVerse movie.

Fans were thrilled with the announcement and so happy after learning that Ahsoka would be back for another season. Fans seem so eager that they even suggested who could take over the late Ray Stevenson's character, Baylan Skoll, in the series. Baylan, the orange-lightsaber-wielding baddie, is a significant figure in the first two episodes and following Stevenson's untimely death, many are rooting for Liev Schreiber to portray the character.

Star Wars fans love Ahsoka because it continues the story of Star Wars Rebels and brings back several beloved characters, including Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), into live-action. Most especially, fans are thrilled to see what happens to them with Thrawn's return to reshape the galaxy. Additionally, it introduces intriguing Force-related lore like the Mortis gods and Baylan's cryptic quest on Peridea. Another thing that won fans' hearts was the cast members' portrayal of their characters, which resonated among them. One of the favorites is Dawson's Ahsoka and Bordizzo's Sabine's interactions. The former served as the latter's mentor. The series also has a compelling storyline, a nostalgic association with Star Wars, and a promise of the franchise's grandeur.

Ahsoka Season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney Plus in late 2025 or early 2026.
