A talented Starfield player has built Greez Dritus' Stinger Mantis ship from the Star Wars Jedi duology. As Bethesda Game Studios' latest RPG, and its first new IP in almost 30 years, Starfield released to great reception earlier this month and has become Bethesda's biggest game launch ever, garnering over 10 million players in its first two weeks.

Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, sequel to 2019's critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, also released earlier this year. While it had initially launched in a subpar technical state, Jedi: Survivor received high praise for its impeccably written story and characters. The Stinger Mantis is the spacecraft Jedi protagonist Cal Kestis and company use to traverse to different planets over the course of both games. As such, the ship has become a staple of the series, and one of Star Wars' most iconic ships as a result.

Now, with Starfield finally out in the wild, many talented and imaginative players have had their hands on the RPG's robust shipbuilding system, creating a wide variety of different ships that reference other franchises like Pokemon, Metroid, and, of course, Star Wars. One sci-fi fan, dstroyer123 on Reddit, posted an image of a ship they've created in Starfield built to resemble Star Wars Jedi's Stinger Mantis. While the color of the Mantis is customizable in Fallen Order, Survivor stuck with its original blue and silver colorway. As such, dstroyer123's Starfield recreation does the same, donning the ship's original blue and silver colors.

Part of what makes the Stinger Mantis such a cool and interesting Star Wars spacecraft is its giant fin that rotates while in flight. While dstroyer123's version of the Mantis in Starfield won't be able to replicate that fin rotation in space, the recreation looks incredibly accurate. It would also be interesting to be able to see the interior of dstoyer123's Mantis and whether it accurately mirrors the inside of the actual Mantis from the Jedi games. A cooking station would make for a nice representation of Greez Dritus' onboard kitchen, and a weapon workbench would be accurate to Cal's own workbench in the very back of the Mantis. All this with the addition of a star map table in the center would make for a solid recreation of the Mantis' interior.

Starfield's shipbuilding system has been the star of the show for many players since the game's launch earlier this month. As more and more gamers get a hold of Starfield in the weeks, months, and years ahead, there are likely to be many more references to iconic games, movies, and franchises made with creative ship builds, especially with Star Wars, as it houses a deep catalog of recognizable ships ripe for recreation in Bethesda's newest RPG.

Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
