When you first start playing Infinity Nikki, it is tempting to think that the combat mechanics are fairly shallow. However, as you continue to progress through the game, you realize that there is actually much more hidden just beneath the surface. One of the key ways in which combat in Infinity Nikki is greatly expanded is the Whim Fragrance system. These unique items modify different aspects of Nikki's abilities in a variety of ways. In this guide, we'll be looking at the Budding Tales whim fragrance, and showing you how to get the Sprouting Melody material in Infinity NIkki.

How to Get Sprouting Melody in Infinity NIkki

Visit the Forest Cavern in Southern Breezy Meadow:

When you open the Heart of Infinity window in Infinity Nikki, you'll find the Whim Fragrance section on the right side of the center circle. You should have the Wind of Purity node unlocked, as that is the main Purification ability outfit. Just below that node, you'll find the node for Budding Tales. It is here that you'll see the Sprouting Melody requirement.

To find Sprouting Melody in Infinity NIkki, you'll need to head to the southern section of Breezy Meadow. To the west of the Queen's Palace, you'll find the Queen's Palace Ruins West Forest warp spire. If you have it activated already, you can teleport there, and you'll find yourself directly in front of your desired location: the Forest Cavern.

Find Fragrance: Sprouting Melody Random Quest:

As soon as you enter the Forest Cavern, you'll see a notification for the "Find Fragrance: Sprouting Melody" Random Quest. To complete the quest, head further into the cave until you reach the first open area. You'll immediately be met by a large contingent of esselings. Make sure to stun the white flower in the center before defeating all the enemies.

Once they are clear, look for the rock ledges that will allow Nikki to climb up around the edge of the chamber. As you make your way up, you'll see another group of esselings waiting on the upper level. This second main level is where you find the chest that contains Sprouting Melody. It is found past the esselings, near the far wall of the cavern.

Once you have Sprouting Melody, you'll be ready to craft the Budding Tales Whim Fragrance.

How to Craft Budding Tales in Infinity Nikki

Visit the Heart of Infinity Window:

Now that you have Sprouting Melody, you can return to the Budding Tales node in the Heart of Infinity. To unlock the Budding Tales sketch, you'll also need 10,000 Bling.

Visit the Whim Fragrance Sketch Window:

With the Budding Tales sketch unlocked, you can now visit the main Sketches section and craft the new Hand Powder. The crafting requirements are:

Sprouting Melody

Tough Leather x10

Thread of Purity x50

With Budding Tales now crafted, you can visit the main Wardrobe window and equip it to the Hand Powder section. It will now be applied during combat.
